Job Captain Position

 

Job Summary


•Assists Principals and Project Managers with managing all phases of projects from start to finish. 
•Provides leadership and direction for day-to-day project operations and administrative activities. 
•Participates in the planning, design and development of projects, analysis and reporting of project results.

 

 

General Accountabilities

 

•Works with project team and serve clients' needs with high professional standards and distinction.
•Able to manage all aspects of multiple projects.
•Manages, reviews and contributes to the production of construction documents.
•Prepare and review specifications.            
                                                                                                                                                   

•Ensures policies are well-documented and communicated to project personnel.
•Research and evaluate quality of materials and finishes.
•Set up project folders per GLA guidelines and maintain throughout project.
•Obtains building permits and coordinate with various government agencies.
 

•Responsible for preparing proposals, budgeting, and scheduling projects.
•Responsible for supervising Project Assistants and working closely with the firm's Senior Project Manager on various administrative tasks.

•Provides training and technical supervision to their assigned teams.
•Motivates and monitors the progress of work performed by project staff to include senior technical personnel.

•Serves as key resource for project information and resolves problems or questions referred by internal and external sources.
•Establishes and maintains an active network of professional contacts.
•Knowledge of AutoCAD minimum release 2010
•Verify codes that apply to project. Double check code review including any special jurisdictional codes.
•Site visits as requested by client (site visit report with photos to follow in a timely manner)
•Verify level of construction administration required
•Making sure that their teams are keeping up with office standards and responsibilities. (Ex. Time sheets, red lines, hours of operation)

 

Job Qualifications

 

•Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree 
•Minimum Experience: 2-4 Years
•Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education and project administration experience in specialized field represented by project 
•Preferred Education: Master’s Degree
